Full Text Search Options

On the Quick Search screen, added an option to enable or disable Full Text Search.

Full Text Search is a powerful feature of Vanguard Search.  It provides the capability to search, not only the Indexes, but also the full text of every document.  This functionality is made possible by using OCR (Optical Character Recognition) on the documents.  This converts the images to text, enabling us to search through every word of every document.  

This gives you a powerful way to find the documents you are looking for.  But because it searches every word, it returns a large number of results.  Sometimes more than you need.  Previously, Full Text was always enabled.  The new option allows you to turn it on or off, depending upon your needs.

By giving you the option to turn Full Text Search off and on, you can control the results you get in a meaningful way.

The default is Search Index Only.  If you need the power of Full Text Search, simply click the option to Search Index & Full Text (OCR).

(Note that Full Text Search works only for typed documents.  OCR cannot read hand-written documents.)
