Deed restrictions are written agreements that restrict, or limit, the use or activities that may take place on property in a subdivision. These restrictions appear in the land records, real property records, or open public records of the county in which the property is located. You can search for these documents in the same manner that you search for deeds, liens, or any other public property record.
